Adult dogs have always been perceived to be immune and resistant to the highly contagious virus that is known as the dog parvovirus. This may be due to the fact that adult dogs have more mature body systems including their body defenses than those of puppies or younger canines thus they exhibit less or even no symptoms from the disease. Even if adult dogs do not exhibit symptoms and effects from canine parvovirus, dog owners should still be aware and concerned with their dog’s health once there are present threats of the disease because they can still be active carriers of the virus.
