In the past, senior citizens were expected to become sedentary. My husband and I had plans of growing old together, and spending the majority of each day in our recliners. But now that we are the age that is considered senior, we have no intention of just sitting around waiting for the inevitable. We bought some residential fitness equipment to keep us healthy. Our doctor recommended aerobic exercise to keep our hearts strong. He told us that not staying active will lead to high blood pressure, and possibly strokes. We have been together since high school. Neither one of us wants to lose the other one. We keep each other motivated, and work out together every day.
