A Las Vegas man recently found a pot of gold in the attic and while it didn’t glitter the Card Box filled with vintage baseball cards was just as valuable as the precious metal.

Sometimes doing a good deed can pay off and that’s what Martin Lowell discovered when he volunteered to clean out his aunt’s attic space. Lowell knew that his great-uncle had been something of a baseball card enthusiast so hoped that he might find a hidden stash of old cards.

After plowing through the dusty remains of virtually anything his aunt and uncle could stuff into the upper crawl space, he knew he hit pay dirt when he found an old box filled with vintage baseball cards.. Quickly shuffling through some of the lesser-known players he had struck gold eyeing the Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig booklet baseball cards, which are worth about $20,000.
